Look at those crazy curly horns!Īnd these little weirdos are called Heterodontosaurus, and they’re so named because alongside the peg-like teeth that most plant-eating dinosaurs have, they also have sharper, more tusk-like teeth. That is, provided that its wings aren’t actually a flying squirrel-like patagium! Yeah, there’s a good chance that this dinosaur actually looked more like a FLYING SQUIRREL. This crazy bird boy is named Yi (current record holder for shortest dinosaur name of all time) and it’s basically as close as you’ll get to a real life cockatrice. Ooh, and then there’s this fine specimen: Don’t worry though, Masiakasaurus is only six feet long. Allegedly, its teeth would be mostly covered up by lips in real life, but they do indeed protrude outward somewhat in the mouth and they’re thought to have been used to grip slippery fish more easily. This horrifying set of pearly whites are from Masiakasaurus. What’s that thing on his back for? Your guess is as good as mine! Most people think that it was a display structure, but I really have no clue.Īlso, it MIGHT have had tiny little wings on its arms. And it was a strict herbivore! The claws were used for both foraging from tree branches and protecting itself from predators. This crazy creature is called Therizinosaurus and it’s basically the Edward Scissorhands of dinosaurs. Picture that thing waddling around like a duck and you can get a pretty good idea of what it’d be like. Look at those tiny little feet! Now, it’s still thought that Spinosaurus was a biped, but it’d look infinitely less intimidating as it walked. This is what we think he looked like now: Dinosaur geek here and I must say, though I agree, I also feel the need to point out that you’re barely scratching the surface of how weird dinosaurs could get! That’s right, they get EVEN WEIRDER!įirst off, the Spinosaurus up there is actually kind of outdated.
